The format will be in a round table discussion format, so bring your questions. After the presentation there will be time for clinical questions. Post dinner we would like to take about 30 minutes and allow members to interact and network with each other.

The format will be a roundtable discussion. Again, please reach out to Amy and let her know you are coming. Get there a little early to meet and network. There will be plenty of time at the end to ask questions and discuss clinical considerations. Hope to see you there. Scan the QR code if you want more info.

Leadership

  1. Leadership is the ability to inspire and guide individuals or groups towards a common goal, by effectively communicating and demonstrating a clear vision and values.

  2. Good leaders are adaptable and can adjust their leadership style based on the situation and the needs of their team, whether it be providing guidance, delegation, or motivation.

  3. A great leader not only achieves success in their own right, but also develops and mentors others to become leaders, creating a legacy that lasts beyond their tenure.

A journey of a 1000 miles begins with one footstep. We all run into issues during our life, and it is our response that determines our success. I truly feel the most difficult task in life is to ask others for help. However it is that help and and our trust in others that often determines the success in our recovery. My ultimate treatment goal has always been to help people feel better, regain quality in life, and become better people during the process. I hope the utilize my knowledge education, and experience to navigate the journey of good mental health.

C. David Runnels III, MSN, PMHNP-BC

Dr. Daria Lewis was born and raised in North Carolina. She graduated from Orange County Public Schools in 1998 and attended North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University later in the fall. Her studies ended up taking her to Winston-Salem State University where she later graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had an appreciation for taking care of patients during their most critical time of need, so she worked in a variety of Intensive Care Units from 2002-2013. However, there was a desire to practice autonomously, and this was the driving force which led her to her current career path. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) and graduated with her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013. That same year, Daria was also accepted in the inaugural class for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at UNC-CH where she later graduated in 2015. After graduation, she worked in CVS MinuteClinics and several dermatology and aesthetics practices. Although she enjoyed practicing in these areas, she found her greatest fulfillment working in Psychiatry and substance abuse after being introduced to this field by a dear friend. She has worked at the Carter Clinic since 2016 treating a myriad of diagnoses. Daria is also certified with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), treating those who have a past and current history of opioid use dependence and other forms of substance abuse. When not working, she enjoys reading, spending time with her family and fishing. Her newest labor of love is flipping houses on Topsail Island, NC, creating a wonderful vacation experience for vacationers who want to get away from all the hustle and bustle.
